Kitchen shelving mistake, not sure what to do

New kitchen fitted, company doing lovely job. Only thing is I wanted oak floating shelves and they suggested/showed me oak in the store which is what they use for surfaces. It’s kind of engineered, so you get a variety of colours fitted together. Fine for surface but not for shelves maybe as you can see the two different colours as you look at them as opposed a natural weave. One split slightly on fitting which they’re filling and making good. I should have gone for solid oak.It wasn’t clear from the small sample in store and I’m new to all this. Don’t know what to do as it was a big job getting them in and they’ve done a good job as a whole. Would be a massive job replacing them and my husband would go nuts! Also got quartz coming this week. Thinking sticking a plant over the join is my only option. 😫

If you really hate them, get them replaced now before the work is finished. Can you source some yourself and get them to swap them over? Loads on Etsy. Or go back to kitchen co with pictures, say you're not happy and you want solid ones and get them swapped. It might seem a hassle but it will be more so later!

Not sure we can after quartz, everything seems to be on a tight schedule. Husband thinks I’m being over fussy which I’m probably am. It’s not their fault.
