Leather sofa tear

Hi, does anyone have any idea about repairing leather sofas. I have a tear on one and not enough to replace it. Happy to use a patch but is this madness?

You can repair with a patch and leather glue. You might be able to glue a patch behind the tear so it is less obvious but it depends where the tear is
