Which carpet?

I have to replace my carpet and can't get wool/wool mix because of moths.

I'm looking for a carpet that is suitable for stairs as well as bedrooms and sitting room.

I've heard that nylon is hard wearing and looks good. I don't want a high pile as I've heard that's not good on stairs.

I don't want loop as I've had that before and it unravels.

Any suggestions?

If you're near Penge in London I can recommend a carpet shop with lovely staff who will advise.

FWIW I chose something called Tramore Tweed.
It is at the cheap end but looks great and is nice and soft.
