Help with rug

Can anyone give me advice on which rug looks better 😁 same room just different angles .

The second one although it’s an all over nicer photo angle

I like the first, but think it could do with being bigger if possible.

I’d prefer something with a bit more colour personally. Pale grey walls, beige carpet, black sofa…

Thanks for all your thoughts the carpet is oatmeal sofas French grey and walls white . I have ochre cushions . Sorry the pictures don’t really highlight this . Any more thoughts now ? Thanks

Whatever rug you choose, have the sofa feet on it. You could really do with a much bigger rug-or moving the sofa closer to the fire. But this will ‘ground’ the room.
