Can I ask how much someone would pay for painter/decorator?

We are looking to get the hall, stairs and landing painted and have never used a painter/decorator before, can someone advise on a rough cost, or what have people have paid for in the past? It's a small 2 bed terraced house so not a massive space. However would be for full ceiling, walls, and woodwork (bannisters, all doors etc).
Thanks in advance.

You need to understand the day rate - work on time and materials otherwise you’ll get ripped off. Where are you?

I pay £250/ day in Yorkshire. Probably a day or two of prep and a couple of days painting

We paid about £400 a room. They did the prep, skirting boards, reset the ceiling light and left a clean finished room

We’re currently having our hallways done by an amazing decorator. Full prep (filling/ sanding etc - as the last decorator we had did not do this!) and ceilings and woodwork. Charges £120 a day.

Even unskilled labour is about £200 per day. Paint isn't cheap. I wouldn't be surprised if it's £1k. Painting isn't that hard and you can buy extendable poles for paint rollers. Personally I'd have a go myself. It's not a room you sit and look at if you don't get it perfect.
