Low maintenance shower room

Our shower room is going to be renovated and I am looking for a way to do minimum maintenance.

No matter how often I clean and polish them, the clear shower enclosure doors get smeared. I know everyone should use a squeegee after each shower but they don't (we're a family of 4 adults). Plus, I found it wasn't always effective. I look with envy at others'.

I dye my hair at home and the grouting gets marked. Of course they are cleaned but it's never brilliant.

Are a sort of frosted shower enclosure / doors a thing these days? Or are they only clear?

The sun blazes through our shower room window - what kind of blind would you recommend?

Any other ideas?

Thank you!

I'd live with smeary panels and door if it is a hard water area tbh. It sounds like the rest of the family aren't bothered about it. Could you stick some of that frosting film on the outside? I imagine it would peel at the edges and look messy after a while though.

Use dark coloured grout so it doesn't show the hair dye.

I'd love to have the sun coming through the window and wouldn't block it out! Do you need a blind for privacy or are you looking for the blind to solve a particular issue that any normal one wouldn't?

We've recently redone our bathroom. The walk in shower has been tiled with large tiles and epoxy grout. Apparently it's stain proof. I hope so because it was a lot more expensive than standard. As for the screen, we wipe down with an e cloth after use

Bloody teens never squeegee after themselves in my house either it's a PITA Grin

I've just had my ensuite redone and had panels rather than tiles (so much easier to clean). The main bathroom has large tiles but dark grout which is ok. I wish I'd had panelling though so much easier.
The teens use the main bathroom and I've put a spray bottle of shower cleaner in there and a squeegee, it sometimes gets cleaned.

Thank you for your replies. I'll look into dark grout and also panelling - that's a new one for me! And epoxy grout.

Still love to have obscured shower doors though so the need to keep them clear is removed!
