What colour goes with these tiles?!

Can anyone help me work out what colours would go with these tiles that isn't grey or beige?!
Inherited the house with them in and I'm not the biggest fan but need to make do for now. Flooring is also awful, kind of beige sparkly vinyl.
Would olive green go? And wood effect floor maybe? I think it's the grey and beige together that is hurting my head as what goes with one doesn't go with the other!

Sand

Oblomov25 · 23/02/2025 16:39

Do you want something subtle or bright. Because many greens, blues, teal, orange would go.

dodgemall · 23/02/2025 16:41

At the moment the walls are grey and the floor beige. I want something brighter, more modern etc.

Pick any of the shades in the tile. Don’t think olive green goes.

dodgemall · 23/02/2025 16:44

The issue is that the beige and grey in the tiles just look really dull. I want something to complement them but I don't really like the colours in them!

I've got a few plants in front of them which look great, so I'm wondering if a leaf kind of green/emerald may go?

The overall effect is quite cold as well as dull. I'd go for some cream or even yellow if you get the right shade, to warm it all up. You can get special paint for tiles. Could you paint the grey tiles cream or a yellowy cream colour. It might make the beige tiles look more lively.

caringcarer · 23/02/2025 16:57

Raspberry pink, orange or teal would go with them.

SparklyNewMe · 23/02/2025 17:00

I would have a look at Dulux subtle shades of mauve, like dusted fondant, taupe, heartwood…

TheLongRider · 23/02/2025 17:00

Blue is on the opposite side if the colour wheel to the beige in the tile. Something like a duck egg blue would contrast but should still work with them.

I came here to suggest At Home with the Barkers. They have LOTS of ideas!

AllrightNowBaby · 23/02/2025 17:10

I’d try to match the palest tile if you want something to brighten up.

dodgemall · 23/02/2025 17:13

Thanks all. Some good ideas. The tiles are textured so don't think I could paint them very easily. And annoyingly are only a few years old, home owners did the bathroom just before we bought it. But it definitely needs modernising!

Maxorias · 23/02/2025 17:14

I'd pick something deep red, carmin or burgundy.

And shower curtains to match.

WildCherryBlossom · 23/02/2025 17:47

Soft blues

PrawnDrench · 23/02/2025 22:06

I quite like the tiles. I think once flooring, wall and other fixtures are revamped, it won’t look so bad.

Crazykefir · 23/02/2025 22:08

^ yes I agree they're alright

cushionfiend · 23/02/2025 22:09

Something like F&B Setting Plaster?

AltitudeCheck · 23/02/2025 22:14

Blues or greens would be ok. Blues could give a kind of beach house vibe I think. Greens quite a natural earthy vibe. If it's a bathroom at least it's small enough to redo if you try a colour and don't love it.

Redfred00 · 23/02/2025 22:19

I'd pick a dusky pinkish colour like (Empress X477) to warm things up.

OddSocksAreCool · 23/02/2025 22:20

I have exactly these tiles only bigger all over my kitchen and I despise them! I'm just gonna paint them, absolutely nothing seems to complement them.

Redfred00 · 23/02/2025 22:23

My mum and dad have them. They painted their bathroom white. It doesn't do anything for the room.

Jobdilemmaz · 23/02/2025 22:30

Definitely a muted sage or olive green and lots of plants if there's space. I hate grey and beige together too. I'd avoid picking another beigy/pinky/neutrally colour because the whole thing will just look blah and it will be really hard to find a shade that won't clash with at least one of the tile colours. Def go complementary.
