We have just cleared out a triangular bit of our third floor which used to be loft so that we can convert it into a playroom for our 1 year old daughter. We have managed to clear it and now it looks very sad and lifeless! Any tips please.

And not a bed, just a den

I don't think anyone is being negative - just pointing out that this won't be the main playing area for years and years, if ever, and you couldn't actually leave her playing in there at all in the short term (3/4 years maybe?) So just think about the sorts of things you'd want to do together. Personally I'd probably do a reading area and crafting table eventually as it would be fab to have a space to craft things and leave them there to dry - was constantly moving things off our dining table at that stage.

My son would have climbed over that in a second by 1. He could climb anything and was soo quick.

Am a big fan of wall stickers for kids rooms - cheap and come in any sort of design you like. My kids still have them in their rooms now.
