New bedroom furniture- mixing styles? Help

Smallish bedroom, not enough storage space. Desperately trying to find room for my handbags, knitwear etc.

Currently have a built in wardrobe (falling apart) so going to re place it with a free standing one from J L which will be either offwhite or light grey. The bedframe, chest of drawers and bedside tables are lightish oak ( again JL but the style isn't available now.)

I can just squeeze in a tall boy if I get rid of a chair which we don't use.

The problem is- all the tall boys in light oak are not the same style as the other furniture although similar-ish. And the other tall boys are painted white - won't match the new wardrobe.

Would you go for painted or wood?

When I redid my bedroom on a budget, I went for secondhand furniture (Facebook marketplace, eBay and local charity places) in similar styles but they were very different finishes (white painted, light wood and dark wood). They looked very random, but were a fraction of the cost of new and when I painted them all the same colour they looked fabulous. It worked really well.
