Teal couch

We have ordered a new teal couch for our living room, very exciting as we have had second hand ikea couches that are in a very bad way for 3 years. I'm just wondering about the walls. They are currently white which I actually like as I find it quite calming for me. It's a north facing room, just wondering whether it would be better to stay with the white walls or try something else to fit in with the couch. It's also not a large room and joined to the kitchen.

I like white walls, especially for a smaller room. And I think it gives you a nice plain canvas, meaning you can add a few different colours, nice wooden furniture etc. without worrying about them competing or clashing with the walls, so I'd personally leave them white, especially if you find them calming. It's all about personal taste though!

I love my white walls. Wooden floor and leaf green sofas. Plain and calming.

I have light pink walls and it works well.

We have a teal sofa and have panelled the bottom half / two thirds of the wall and painted that in an F&B neutral - Stony something or other (a medium beige) and then the upper part of the wall and ceiling is white. Think this is the best of both worlds - a bit of interest and makes the sofa stand out, but keeps the room light.
