Help me design my small lounge

I am struggling, the sofa would look better over the other end where the tv unit is but it's too big and we can't get another one for a while so we have to Make do. I'm struggling how to decorate this room, I like modern. I already have a rug it's the walls I'm struggling with

Does the sofa have to go against a wall? I'd pull it out into the room, so that it is in front of the TV, with a rug and a long thin coffee table, to zone that area for TV. Then shelving or artwork along the back wall. Create a different zone in the area by the window - a desk and chair or long drinks/music system cabinet or book case with small reading chair and floor lamp.

Is the room big enough for this to work?
