Desperately Seeking Kitchen Inspiration

Help! I hate my kitchen. Specifically the counter tops / splash back and tiles. Oh, and the paint colour.

I had a quote to have my cabinet doors replaced (£10k) but to be honest the doors are fine.

Can anyone recommend ideas as to what I can do to make my kitchen more “country cottage”? I was thinking;

• sage green paint?
• a new light for over the kitchen island
• new tiles for the wall - ideas?
• new counter tops?
• paint the doors?
• new door handles?

Love a green kitchen, so I would be happy with Sage green.

Agree a new light fitting, the s-bend is too ‘modern’ for a country style kitchen.

I think your doors would look good against green, but if you can change the handles to something more traditional - cup handles and knobs , if they fit.

As for tiles, I like simple white ones. Or perhaps a mellow cream. I still like subway tiles but I get they have been around a while.

The grey framework to your units - could that be painted? Or replaced with a colour to complement the rest?

I think you need a mood board - perhaps take one door off and lay it against some green painted paper, with tile samples, possibly worktop

If you have a favourite tradesman, ask them what they have seen out and about that works. They can have some really great ideas and know where to look.
