I prefer this type to cup or knobs, but it would still take me ages to pick between all the ones available!

Ha ha middle one is the one I’m toying with but brushed.Planner has used them all and it looks nice in the pics but I’m seeing cups and knobs all over Insta. Can’t envisage it, could do with some software you can switch out options.

Cups, I feel, are germ holders, knobs end up with scratches all around them from peoples nails when they grab them.
Yes brushed, rather than shiny!

Look so pretty on Insta though 😂 I look the uniformity of all D handles but wonder if it’s a lot of metal.

Whatever you choose I would get a sample to see how it feels. We've just swapped out some sharp edged nickel D handles for cast iron ones that are like a round bar bent at the ends. They are so much nicer to use.

Knobs are ok if not too small, flattish ones easier to grip. Old fashioned/traditional styles often have stood the test of time for a reason.

John Lewis of Hungerford used to style their kitchens with all three if you really can't decide.

Wooden knobs and cups every time.

I have moved from a house with the latter to another with D handles. Same local hand made kitchen people.

Hugely prefer knobs and cups.I think they look so much nicer too.

Arghhh don’t say that, my brain can’t take a third option.😂Can’t decide between the uniformity of just Ds or the mixture 😫Wish there was some way of switching out options on a pic of your design to see.

When we had our kitchen done last year, the designer advised us not to go for cups because they were less comfortable to use, and you couldn't easily pull a heavy door open with them (eg integrated fridge/freezer). We never discussed knobs but I went for large handles which I love and are really comfortable to use.

NotMeNoNo · 08/02/2025 19:46

Yes, cup handles are definitely only for drawers.

Doggiedays · 09/02/2025 08:42

Cups and knobs look better. Regretfully I have handles - not my choice, the previous owners, if I ever repaint they are going!

If you’re after a balance of ease and style, try D-bar handles on lower drawers and cup pulls on overhead cabinets. You get the sleek grip on larger pieces where it counts, and that cozy inset look up top.

Decor & Decor actually has a handy preview tool so you can mix and match virtually, check out their Handles UK range at https://www.decoranddecor.com/collections/handles to sample both styles side by side

And also for magic corner units and dishwasher doors imho.

D handles.

Chasingsquirrels · 28/07/2025 16:38

I had slightly more decorative bar handles.

I had slightly more decorative bar handles.

That looks a nightmare to clean.

That looks a nightmare to clean.

I don't find that at all, quick wipe over.

Lighttodark · 28/07/2025 20:47

I have a brushed brass on integrated appliances and there’s no issue at all with comfort, performance. I don’t like the D handles, sorry. Look cheap imo
