I can't find uplighter ceiling shades anywhere

I'm trying to find some ceiling shades for my bedroom, I really would like pleated style uplighters. They were everywhere in the 80s and 90s as far as I remember. I'm quite sensitive to lighting, mostly use lamps in bedroom anyway but when my husband or children put the ceiling lights on it would be nice if the shades dimmed and softened the light and threw it up at the ceiling rather than directly down. Also one of the ceiling lights is directly above the bed and it would be nice not to look up and see the underside of the shade and the bulb. Can anybody help as I am drawing a blank? Can't think why uplighter ceiling shades are not a thing anymore!

Something like this, although I'm open to colour/size/material etc.

I think charity shops may be your best bet.
I've been looking at light fixtures and shades for a while now and I've never seen any like these. (Doesn't mean they're not out there I suppose)

There are drum type ones where the bottom is enclosed, that would solve the staring at the bulb issue and would possibly soften the light also.

Don't do it. They collect flies, wasps and dust.

I have to keep cleaning out the flies in the upside down lampshades in our living room chandelier. I regret buying this style of light fitting.

You can get them, see above, ridiculously priced though!

I've got a lovely ceramic shade that is round and cutwork. There's no opening at the bottom so has the same effect. Plus it is ceramic, so washable when you decorate (only time I would think about it). That was only about £60. I'll see if I can find it online.

I hadn't considered this at all, thanks for highlighting it. Definitely something to consider.

Thank you, that next one is exactly what I was picturing in my mind and couldn't find! Shame about the price which is ridiculous, as you say for what is probably glorified cardboard. I would love to see the ceramic one if you can find it.
