Hi - without breaking the bank, I am looking for someone who can advise on lighting in a few areas of an old house. Dodgey electrics means I have no kitchen lighting at present except lamps, so a good time to rethink the overall effect and upgrade! Has anyone had a good experience at a reasonable price-point? Needs to be in Oxfordshire please. Thanks!!!

I think you need an electrician.

This is what I'd do:

If you have a local independent lighting shop, go and look around and ask them who they recommend installs what they sell.

See if you can get the number of the electrician they use.

Make sure they understand that you are a potential customer of their lighting.

Get the electrician round to quote to replace any dodgy electrics and ask advice about lighting.

Good wiring comes first.

Create Academy have just published a lighting design course which might give you some good ideas?
