Kitchen tile help

Our kitchen is nearly finished / should be done by Wednesday.

So need to think about tiling. I was thinking we'd just go for cream but saw these lovely pink tiles in the tile place. I love the long matt ones.

Do they go?

I'm normally very apprehensive when going for colour.

The worktops are oak, as is the floor and we're having a black tap, handles and accessories.

I love the tiles (can you give a link? I am currently having a pink ensuite refit) but I'm not sure they go with those units - what is the actual unit colour?

BG2015 · 25/01/2025 13:38

They're from Topps Tiles

They're from Topps Tiles

Thanks.
And interesting, my kitchen tiling was done in the white Linear tile 5 years ago.

Are the cabinets a sort of warm grey? Where are the walls which will be painted? I assume the bit between the worktop and top units will all be tiled? Are you tiling behind the cooker or putting something else there?

nwilson12 · 26/01/2025 06:06

The pink are lovely but I don't think they go. The cabinets look a cool colour and the tiles look warm. I think you need to choose a cooler tile colour, the paint colours also look on the cooler side. Do they have a different colour pink tile? Can you try the visualise option on the topps website?

BG2015 · 26/01/2025 08:29

After much discussion we have decided against the pink tile. It will be an expensive mistake to make and I just don't feel confident enough to go for them.

Think we will go for a more neutral tile and use a bolder colour on the walls.

Wise move. I think with those cabinets and tiles it would all look a bit beige. I would go for a burnt orange kind of colour either for the paintwork or the tiles and make it all feel a bit more interesting.

Try the tile visualiser app on Topps, I found it very good.
Something like orange would be bold, although I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to do that in the tile, but the paint is another matter.
Good luck!
