Choose my sofa - filling worth £500 more?

We’re down to 2 sofas, almost identical. Is SofaSofa worth £500 more to have foam&feather filling over DFS foam&fibre, for comfort and durability? Mood board in pics.

Edit - sofasofa is £1529 not 1400, for the foam&feather upgrade.

We want squidgy comfort so something over the foam is good, but would fibre over foam lose it’s shape after not so long?

This is for our sitting/play area in the open plan kitchen, so heavy use from kids and dog. We have a separate smarter living room with investment sofas.

Will be paired with 2 burgundy armchairs. Thanks everyone!

My MIL had a foam and feather sofa and apart from there being feathers constantly floating around, it was the most uncomfortable sofa. It lost its shape so quickly and you were constantly having to plump the cushions. I was glad when she got rid!

That’s so helpful. Definitely not worth the money then! Thank you.

Kids and dogs = mud and spillages. I wouldn't spend a lot on a sofa that will have that sort of life. In fact, I didn't - we had a series of secondhand ones.

A friend also had huge issues with her Loaf foam and feather sofa cushions, even had them come out to check it wasn’t due to a fault – it wasn’t. Saggy, uncomfortable and constantly needed plumping. So galling for such a big purchase!
