Pendant lights and RSJ issue

Hi,
i had planned on having the standard 3 pendant lights coming down over the kitchen island (hob with extractor fan on) However having ordered the lights ive just realised the RSJ beam cuts right through where i’d intended. Can i put one slap bang in the middle of the island and then one the other side of the RSJ beam (think approx 15-20cm deep) The other one the other side?
attached a plan (black line is beam, and just added the red line on the island to show the overhang for the stools)
any advice welcomed and if i have to shelve having pendants so be it. if anyone has done this before id be grateful to see photos.

It can be done but you need to chat to your builder because it will depend on how far you are through the build as to how destructive it will be to fit them. Have they put the ceiling up yet?

Can you put them at three different heights? Or have the kind that can be raised and lowered?
