New bed

Hi,
DMil has gifted us £2000 to get ourselves something, we were thinking of a new bed, or new wardrobes for our spare room. Swaying towards the bed.
Does anyone have any recomendations of bed shops, re. Service, price etc
Should add, me and DH are overweight so a sturdy bed is a must. He was thinking ottoman lift if we can get a sturdy one. Help please, our current bed is over 20years old (mattresses have been replaced)

We had good experience with Bensons. Also our local independent furniture store was especially good at finding one that suited.

That said, Dreams advertise a sleep analyser, so it might be worth starting there with the analyser to understand what you should look for, then shop around to get the perfect one for you.

Thanks, i know i sound daft, but I've never bought a proper bed, my DH had the bed when we met, so I've never bought one. We have a Bensons near us, and a dreams the next town over.

Aw well, enjoy the chance to choose the one you like. I think your budget should get you something rather lovely. Take your time. Try it out on different days , different moods if you can. Don’t let them push you …😄

What type of bed are you thinking of? Wooden frame, divan, ottoman? I’ve got a wooden king size one from a local furniture store near me (Leekes). I purchased the branded mattress from Amazon without trying it and just went on the reviews and was pleased with it. I recently bought my daughter a double ottoman bed from Next and was pleased with that. It wasn’t Next branded, the brand is Aspire and I think you can get them from other furniture suppliers. I purchased the mattress from Argos. Again pleased and no complaints.

DH wants an ottoman bed, I'm not bothered, I just want a nice fabric looking one, with a beautiful headboard. Looking forward to looking
