Wondering if anyone can offer some advice on the John Lewis Arlo sofa, especially if they or someone they know has had it for a period of time?

We need a compact sofa and the Arlo fits the bill perfectly, looks great in the store and is comfortable to sit on. However, some reviews on the John Lewis website mention ‘puddling’ of the fabric on the seat cushions, presumably where the it has stretched having been sat on, sometimes after just a few months.

Can’t decide if we’d be foolish to buy it given the negative reviews, although there is nothing else we’ve found that we like (and can try out in store) and meets our requirements. Help!

I considered it too for space reasons and went round in circles sitting on so many. I liked the price but was also worried about the reviews i read. I knew it would annoy me if it started to look bad quickly. If i remember correctly it is one fixed piece (as in the cushions dont move. I worried that I wouldn’t be able to smooth it out/reshape it in that case. I went for a different brand in the end (more expensive).

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. It sounds like you had exactly the same dilemma as us. And yes, you’re right, the seat cushions are fixed such that they can’t be removed and plumped up.
if you don’t mind me asking, which sofa did you opt for in the end?

Hello, I went for one by sofas by saxon and i love it! Nothing sags or moves. It is firm and supportive so not for someone who likes slouchy couches. They are made to last.
