Are mosaic style floor tiles old fashioned now?

Having the bathroom redone and I do like the idea of plain white walls/sanitary wear with a navy and white floor.

But are they on their way out? Are they the new grey?

I know I should just choose what I like, but this will have to last me a good few years so don't want it to date quickly.

With bigger tiles you get less grout. It might be wise to have bigger plain navy or a bit lighter than navy tiles. Matt effect is good as drops of water don't show.

Just not sure about mosaic. I really like them but wonder if they're a passing phase?

I teach mosaics but I don't have them on my floors.
I have porcelain tile terrazzo tiles. Large ones. Colourful though. Also have epoxy grout (it's a two part grout) which doesn't stain.
