Pencil pleat curtain stretched cord

Hi all

We have an annoying issue with most of our curtains. Where the curtain pulls over the join on the bar, the first couple of rings on that side get caught and have have pulled on the cord over time, loosening it for those rings. This means that near the middle on one side of all of our curtains, the curtain hangs slightly lower (exposing the whole ring rather than just part of it). One curtain got so bad it destroyed the tape entirely, meaning new curtains needed - definitely eyelet this time!

Is there any fix for pulling the loose cord tight again? I know one possibility is to move the hook across onto the next bit.

Could you add a photo please. It's difficult to work out which bit you mean?

Can you move the hooks up or down a row? You usually get 3 or 4 rows on the tape

Also could you switch left and right curtains so the hanging is on the outside edge?

Thanks - this is what I mean. All hooks are on the same row but two hang lower.

Thanks, both good suggestions.

I meant a pic of the stretched bit at the back. Sorry should have been more specific. I was wondering if you could pull the stretched bit through the curtain more or sew a few stitches in to tighten it up.

Sorry here. It's not that obvious but these 2 are about a cm lower than the rest.

Would these hooks help?

Issue here is the eyelets you have on the poles they always have the problem of getting stuck on a join.
With eyelet curtains you can jig and move over the join and no damage done.
The set up you have now is putting pressure on your string and tape on the pencil pleat as they're not on the ideal track.
You either need to have eyelet curtains on a pole or pencil pleats on a proper track.
You can hide the tracks with your pencil pleats as addmitidlley they're not the most attractive, most are metal and just a standard white unless you pay extra.
The plastic hooks you have will also deteriorate over time, sounds mad but you need metal hooks for pencil pleats but not the ones you've linked, you need more rounded ones but you will continue to have the same problem with them pulling the string with the set up you have.

@Belle96 is right. But you could take them down and sew the stretched loops smaller with some hand stitching as a temporary fix. Unfortunately it is likely to just happen again because of the curtain pole.
You could keep the same brackets and buy a new long curtain pole which doesn't have the knobbly break in it? What length so you need?
