King sized bed with no width clearance

Hello
I am looking for a kingsized bed which will fit a 150cm wide nook. is there such a thing which is not an ottoman bed since i want to be able to clean underneath it? it nees to take a 150 cm wide mattress which means the frame will need to sit flush with the mattress. has anyone seen something like this? Thanks.

In this circumstances I wouldn't bother buying a bed - you don't need one. Just attach appropriate timber (with crenelations for the slats) to the walls either side at the height you want and lay loose slats across then put a mattress on top. When you wanted to clean you could lift the mattress to vertical and remove the slats.

If you buy a bed, how do you envisage moving it out of the way to clean?
If you have an ottoman that sits flush to the floor how could there be any dirt underneath to need cleaning?

We did have a bed once that did this. Got rid of it because (a) it made noisy creaks and (b) the mattress never stayed put but kept sliding off. You'd be ok with (b) as the walls would hold it in but there was a tall piece at the foot end so you'd be baricaded in.

i have an ottoman in another room- there is a gap between the ground and the floor of the bed and lots of dust seems to collect. it is a faff opening that ottoman up to clean from the top (since cant squeeze in the vacuum attachment in that gap). i suppose i could get a metal bedframe which is 150cm wide- i see some online - but then these are mostly without a headboard. it is a child's room in which i am looking to replace the bed - she still sometimes needs me next to her / handy for sleepovers to have a king bed vs single/double.

We have this platform bed frame? Could something like that work?

That sounds to me like a better plan would be to look for a 75cm bed with under-trundle so that the 2nd half can be just brought out when needed rather than taking up double space 100% of the time.

Have you looked at Ikea? We got our base and mattress from there and the base is the exact same size as mattress.

I will check my old purchases for the style name.

The exact one we got doesn't seem to be on the site any more, but it is very similar to this

Check out this LYNGÖR from IKEA

Here's a little more information:

We have an ottoman bed and it is flush on the floor, absolutely no space underneath.

This is very smart looking @fiorentina. Have you put storage crates underneath? I have a divan & would miss the space to store all my crap.

It does look clean & tidy without storage though.

Good thread, thanks Op. I have restricted space & looking for similar too.

We had the same issue and this was perfect

We do have some crates underneath but nothing excessive.

It might be worth looking at two side by side electric beds. With either one king size quilt, or two single ones (like the continent).
