I think we need way more information. Is this one bedroom or several? How large? What aspect? What’s your budget? Are you planning to replace items or furniture, or are you contemplating new flooring? Or just changing the wall colour? New curtains?

Depending on your headboard situation this kind of thing can look great and is really low commitment, especially if you pick a light contrast colour

Not sure we can know what to suggest on how to update without seeing what you're house is like currently.

It's really hard to give advice not knowing what your house is like right now, though.

For bedrooms change the bedding (colour and patterns) match with new lampshades and make sure the light bulbs are soft tone.
A cheap window shade/blind can add a matching pop of colour to what is the biggest wall feature.
