What do I do with my bed?

I want to replace my bed but I'm struggling to work out the logistics as I live alone.

My current bed is quite a heavy king sized upholstered bed with drawers in the base. How difficult is it to disassemble a bed on your own?

And what do I do with it? I've looked into charity collections but apparently it can be a bit of a nightmare with waiting lists, and they might not take it since it's upholstered (although fire labels are intact). Should I try to sell it? I have nowhere to put it that it won't be in the way of something else so I don't want to have to store it for long.

And with the new bed...

How doable is assembling it on my own? It's this one which it looks relatively straightforward as beds go https://www.habitat.co.uk/product/9418112?clickSR=slp:term:tatsuma:1:6:1 do you think it would be ok if I used some books to prop the sides up?

I guess you pay a handyman to help or give it away free but state that they need to disassemble it themselves on a certain date.

I have that bed. I can't remember assembling it but I'm sure it was fine to do on your own. I can't remember if we got a habitat mattress too but we had to move it (kingsize) up and down stairs recently and I don't think I could have done that on my own. It is a really deep one, so extra heavy and doesn't have handles.

Are you happy with the bed? I like the walnut coloured one more than the ash I think but the ash is reduced. Fortunately my mattress is fine so I don't need to do anything there.
