Really luxy feeling sofa cushions

What filling is used in super luxy sofas - those ones you sit on and they give but feel firm yet soft all at the same time? Like in posh hotels and the like

Just feathers? Nothing else? And what sort?

If they're quite firm then they might have a synthetic inner core wrapped in feathers.

Yes firm core - foam wrapped in upholstery padding then wrapped in feathers

Keep in mind feather cushions need proper fluffing EVERYDAY! I worked in a sofa showroom and don’t underestimate how heavy they are. If you don’t do everyday they don’t last and start looking tired quickly

We recently got rid of a lovely tetrad sofa that had feather cushions because they were a pain to plump and were mostly just flat, sad and quite hard all the time because nobody but me plumped them. I have a pull up leather sofa we have had for years, it wasnt cheap and I sadly cannot remember what the filling is but it has stayed soft, plumped and so so comfortable, sinkable but supportive. It just gets better looking with age and it's everyone's first choice of seating. It's not feathers - I wish I knew what it is. Best thing we ever bought!
