Where to put fridge magnets with no fridge door?

I'm looking for some inspiration on how you display fridge magnets if you have a non magnetic cupboard over the fridge?

I'd like something that could either be hung in kitchen or displayed on kitchen side?

Any ideas welcome!

We have a metal notice board with magnets. All of our fridge magnets are displayed there.

We are having a large piece of metal on the side of the integrated fridge. We have over 200 magnets....at the moment

Muchtoomuchtodo · 10/12/2024 15:57

What else is metal in your home that they could be stuck to? Radiators maybe?

TotallyTwisted · 10/12/2024 15:59

When I had a fridge in a cupboard, I just didn't have any fridge magnets. I don't see why you'd need them?!

Cooker hood

Thanks @RosieFlamingo @AuntieMarys

I've just seen IKEA do these, also a big magnetic chalk board in Dunelm.

Need to work out where to hang it Grin

You can buy magn̈etic wall charts, or have you got any other metal,in the kitchen, create an arty hanger with a metal watering can or hanging painted frying pans, small metal flower pots

You can get magnetic sticky back plastic which you can stick onto the door. Google will show you plenty.

@TotallyTwisted

Definitely not a need! I quite like collecting magnets from places we've visited, at the moment they're in a cupboard but just wanted to display them :)

@Muchtoomuchtodo good idea but I unfortunately don't have a radiator in the kitchen, also no high radiators except a towel rail in the bathroomGrin thank you

You can get magnetic paint - put a coat of it on then another coat of whatever paint you have elsewhere. Looks like a normal wall except it's magnetic

The boiler? I'm not sure about the safety aspect but it is magnetic. We also have a notice board.

My mum has become disabled in later life and my relatively young dad has become her carer, they can't really go out she's totally immobile and reliant on him.
He has magnets from all his children's and grandchildren holidays that he lives through us. He will soon lose his open fridge due to some adaptations in their home and we will buy him a large board so he can still see his magnets we buy him

Before we changed the central heating and got a new boiler hidden in a cupboard, our fridge magnets were on the front of the boiler in the kitchen. They are now mostly in a small box in the loft.

HundredMilesAnHour · 11/12/2024 17:20

Mine are on the side of the microwave and the washing machine.

WalterdelaMare · 11/12/2024 17:24

I’m not a fan of the aesthetic, so ours are hidden on the washing machine, tumble dryer and boiler in the utility room. I’d throw them all out tbh as our kids are young adults now, but even so, they’d probably moan if I do.

Mine have been warned never to buy them Blush

For the first time in my life I was able to plan, buy and get fitted a brand new kitchen recently.

To my horror, a colleague bought me some fridge magnets and I didn't have the heart to tell her they'll be going nowhere near my lovely brand new silver fridge!!

No expectation of an answer to this, @creativemommy, but your post screams AI - does this kind of marketing technique actually work for you?

caringcarer · 26/12/2024 09:03

Cooker hood or a specific radiator.
