Another rug one

Mumsnet is so good at this stuff - could you please help me decide the best place to put a rug in my living room?

Diagram below of my living room (not to scale, but I tried as hard as I could to get proportions right, and to show other furniture and features for reference).

I currently have an old one that goes under the coffee table and doesn't quite reach any of the sofas, and it obviously looks too small.

But it's not obvious to me about what would look good. I don't think all three sofas should sit on the rug as the bottom sofa is (almost) against the wall, and I think that might look weird.

What do others think?

Sorry, I don't know why the diagram has posted as black! It's white on my computer.

Our rug goes partially under the sofa and armchair but not completely. Basically wanted it to look more "casual" than completely symmetrical! If I could draw a diagram on here I would do. I will try to find a photo of something similar....

Thank you @Starlight1979, that's an interesting point about symmetry and you've got me thinking. Even though the sofas are set up to be aligned, there's no reason the rug has to be symmetrical in its position, and obviously the rest of the room isn't.....might even help work with the fireplace, rather than against it.
