I’m toying with the idea of buying of buying the DFS Calix l, link as follows:

https://www.dfs.co.uk/calix/cix16ecxb?gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADojP054BnTieEyE-SqkJHl2NXXQJ&gclid=CjwKCAiA6aW6BhBqEiwA6KzDczVW-DztIJCqhiVDXz-LjO-DAppdNjLruL1RZyb7UZL73pAz29lOExoCz-gQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

At the moment, I only have a small 3 seater and looking to get something bigger as we don’t all fit (myself and 4 children!) especially now they’re all getting bigger. I want something to last 10+ years well into their teenager years.

The room is about 4m by 3.5m and only 1 wall I can use (as window, fireplace and then open plan to dining room).

As it’s not a massive space, I’m nervous the darker colour will look too dominant? But on the positive side, it fits along the wall and fits us all! Plus I prefer a darker colour and have lots of plants etc and like nature!

Help! Going to go for a light carpet and light walls although, would consider the fireplace being a different colour. I also have some mustard accessories, cushions etc.

Any interior design gurus out there?!

We only really use the room for TV watching / having a cuppa etc. The kids don’t really play there.

It’s very like the one DD has but without the L shape. It has been a huge success. The room is small but it sits nicely against the wall.

It's beautiful! Go for it!

I love it. Looks really comfortable and the style should be good for a long time.
I think do it paired with the plants and cushions.

Maybe my username will give you a clue to my advice? 😂 The only difference with mine is the legs are longer so it's higher from the ground - means you can see the floor through which isn't quite as imposing. Mine divides the room though and isn't against the wall which is why I chose this option. I would buy a couple of throws in a different texture - mustard and cream? - I know that sounds like a cop-out but I think with your light walls and carpet, be brave and go dark then add your light accents! Happy lounging.

Nice sofa. My only advice with small kids is to be strict on not allowing food/drink on the sofa as it looks like the covers are not removable. We had similar and did not enforce this rule, had to bin it after 5 years Blush (and now have leather)
