What chairs with a marble dining table?

CandyCane5 · 27/11/2024 14:30

I have my heart set on a new marble table but I cannot find any chairs that matches it. The ones on the website seem a bit mismatched? But I can't find anything else that I think would go well? Any suggestions?
Ideally I wanted to avoid silver legs.

Really depends what the rest of the room looks like

Noise cancelling chairs!

With marble, I always think something warmer in natural materials or a full brass sets it off well. But it depends on the rest of your room.

I like the look of these

I think too grey and too white with marble looks dated and cold, so agree the chairs in the pictures aren't quite right

The room is very much a blank canvas, this is the area it would be in. I was also thinking of wooden chairs, perhaps to match the doors so it's not a clash of wood tones.

Are you keeping the wall colour?
I’m not sure white marble would look very good against it, tbh.

Quite honestly i think that table is harsh and horrible looking. I would get a really nice wooden one. It would look lovely in that space.

I agree.

OP, have you had marble before? Just asking because it's very easy to stain, and very hard to remove stains

ObtuseMoose · 29/11/2024 17:48

That table is going to look really out of place in that room, marble doesn't really scream 'stick me in front of a radiator'.

SunshineAndFizz · 29/11/2024 17:58

Hmm not a fan to be honest. You're finding it tricky to find chairs for a reason.

LimoncelloSpritzplease · 23/08/2025 08:27

The table looks a bit heavy/chunky looking. Agree maybe a wooden table would look better or maybe just a ceramic top?

Marble is very high maintenance. It’s a lovely table but if this is a family home I’d stop and rethink. it’s loud, it’s hard, it’s cold and it stains. Ketchup isn’t coming off!

Your room has warm tones - especially if you want to keep the natural wood of the door, and incorporate it into the furnishings. Marble is cool and I think it’s too much of a clash.

I agree with others, it’s a safety risk around children and would only really look good in a very modern flat/house.

I would also rethink personally.
