I am on the lookout for a recliner
I have looked for second hand for agggggeeeess and nothing is really coming up that I would like. I think I will now look to buy new BUT I cannot believe the minefield it has become... each and every big chain has really negative reviews...and pictures
I am looking for a recliner (2 x 2 seaters) that is -
manual
Grey / dark grey / fleck woven or suede
That don't sag
That are robust and hold the weight of your legs....( this seems to be a problem believe it or not)
Anyone have one they recommended
Or recommend a store?

I have checked out my local stores and they are 3 times the price of the chains, and even they have mixed reviews

We had a DFS recliner sofa a few years ago and within 6 months the seat cushions began to sag. This is very common and in fact planned by the manufacturers. Its called planned obsolescence. If you get a sofa from a chain you have to expect this.

When I get around to it I'm planning to replace all the cushioning using this company, since structurally everything else about our sofa works perfectly.

Don’t bother! They’re a bloody nightmare and a real pain to clean under.

I got a recliner from furniture village two years ago. Still as good as new (family of 5, so it gets quite a lot of use). It’s fair I 100% prioritise comfort over style so it screams granny sofa but it works.

I've just ordered this, I went in store to try it which was a 90 min drive as like you been disappointed by recliners in other stores.

We have a 2 seater recliner sofa from G Plan at Furniture Village. It is covered in a flec woven fabric - there were lots of colour swatches to select the fabric from. Yes, it is a bit hard to clean under and when the recliner bit is up it takes up a lot of the room so it is a pain with a central coffee table so we use side tables with it more. We bought it about 10 years ago but I expect G Plan still do similar. It has survived 2 kids and 2 cats and still looks fine - no sagging. I am sure it’s not to everyone’s taste but it is so comfy!
