Do you have an amazing bed?

I am looking to buy a new bed, ideally divan or other storage in the base.

Our current mattress is a Hypnos wool 6 medium tension and it’s too soft. I really hate it.

if you love your bed can you please share where you bought it from? Thanks

We have a herdy sheep mattress and I love it.

I bought a new mattress a few weeks ago and I love it. It was from a company called Winstons Beds. Google them, they hand make luxury mattresses in the UK. Mine is made with all natural materials so,nice and breathable and has a 30 year guarantee

I've got a waterbed, best thing I ever spent money on.

PopGoesBang · 17/12/2024 20:58

We recently got a Harrison sinks divan, mattress and headboard. I have to say, it was my DH that was very particular, and he was right!
Firm mattress and the best nights sleep since we've had it. I'd do it again if we had to for any reason.

PopGoesBang · 17/12/2024 21:00

Harrison spinks! No sinking involved.

Sinkintotheswamp · 17/12/2024 21:04

No. I have a new ikea Malm. It has sticking out bits around the edges and I keep smashing my shins against it. Stupid design.

StamppotAndGravy · 17/12/2024 21:14

I have the IKEA Gjora. It looks a tad odd, but I love it. It's very sturdy. It's so high you can store plastic crates under so nothing gets dusty. The low bar stops the duvet escaping and is the perfect height for holding onto while putting socks on. We have hipster LED vintage lamp bulbs dangling from the high bar so no more knocking the lamp off the bedside table and much more space for books and mugs.

ViSpring. Had it ages. In fact, need to replace the mattress as had for 16 plus Yeats and going now … will just need to replace the mattress.

also got a hypnos for spare bed. But if mattress bit right, not matter the make.

Bensons for beds.
Superking, springs and a topper, divan base with drawers.
Ddog loves it too

We are on our second Tempur mattress. The first one lasted 20+ years. I bought it because I was suffering from sciatica and it eased it tremendously.
They come in various comfort levels, we currently have a medium one and once we got used to it, it takes a couple of weeks I struggle sleeping on anything else.
My back takes a hammering due to my work but the mattress allows it to recover quickly.
They are not everyone’s cup of tea but we love it.
I’ve been sleeping in the spare room recently due to post bereavement insomnia but I’m back in my bed and sleep so much better, once I eventually fall asleep. Hopefully the insomnia will pass.

Angrymum22 · 17/12/2024 21:44

Oh and it’s six foot, a game changer for any marriage particularly when your DH is over 6’ and sleeps diagonally.

username299 · 17/12/2024 21:48

I've got a John Lewis sprung divan. My mattress is an Otty hybrid. It's comfortable.

Isthisrealomgwow · 17/12/2024 21:50

We got this base 6 months ago. I'm off to Ikea over Christmas to replace it.

The end sticks out too far (about 8 inches past the mattress) with sharp corners that hit just below the knee cap. And the duvet catches on the corners resulting in lost buttons and torn duvets. The storage is ace though.

Our mattress, from ikea, is fantastic.

Watching with interest as need a new bed.

I was recently at an expensive hotel with hypnos beds. Their website raved about the beds, every room description mentioned them, the comfort etc.
It was awful. The buttons on the mattress dug into my ribs (and I'm not thin!) and it was a dreadful sleep.

NicolaCasanova · 17/12/2024 21:57

Yes, bed and mattress are Teddiber. Hard and enormous. Love it.

Tisfortired · 17/12/2024 21:57

Oh I do I absolutely LOVE my bed. We got a new one recently after sleeping on an Ikea mattress on a bed with broken slats.

We got a firm Sealy mattress with a beautiful cream coloured voice divan bed and it’s perfect for us. We tried about 10 million beds and this one is brilliant and worth every penny.

BestIsWest · 18/12/2024 23:21

We have a Hypnos Orthocare 6 super king and I love it. It’s very firm but incredibly comfortable.

whydoihavetowork · 18/12/2024 23:40

We have the Premier Inn bed it is made by Hypnos.

UnwantedOpinionBelow · 19/12/2024 00:22

We have the premier inn 2.0 mattress, love it!!!

minipie · 19/12/2024 00:26

John Ryan by Design mattresses. Good mattresses, high quality construction. But the best part is that they will let you try the mattress for 60 days and will collect & refund without quibble if the mattress doesn’t suit you (provided you followed their advice on ordering the right mattress for you).

For the bed itself - just make sure it’s properly slatted with each half separately slatted.

LoafofSellotape · 19/12/2024 00:29

Tempur super king ottoman, fabulous thing!

bluesatin · 19/12/2024 00:30

We have an oak tester bed made for us years ago by Stuart Interiors. https://www.stuartinteriors.com/furniture/
I think the mattress is a pocket sprung one made by Dorma. We sleep well on it, but it is incredibly heavy!

Hypnos is the best, just get an extra firm.

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 19/12/2024 11:59

I've got a fabulous mattress with a gel topper. Ridiculously comfortable. Didn't think it could get any better until I bought a teddy fleece fitted sheet from M&S, absolute game changer!

Howtonamechange · 19/12/2024 12:00

Ikea malm. I hate it. It's so squeaky. The only good thing is the size it's a super king
