tile decision help please!

I've a tiny shower room with a tiled upstand around the shower tray, in an Airbnb rental.

For various reasons this upstand has to be retiled. I'm thinking the same tiles as the floor, and not white as currently, but builder has said this might be a trip hazard as it won't be as clear that you step over a bit into the shower tray.

I don't want white again as it shows every speck of dirt.

Do you think it'd be a trip hazard to do the upstand in the same tiles as the floor? If you were new to this shower and had never used it before?

P.S. the tiles come in a couple of paler shades.

You are effectively dealing with a commercial property now and should expect unknown persons to use it so definitely needs to be a different colour to avoid accidents and possibly being sued.

Alternative paler shade tile combos, lower colour is the current darker floor tile.

Thanks, I've been in furnished short lets for 11 years and yes I know it's a commercial property with unknown people staying. My question is whether same colour tile upstand would be an actual trip hazard, since to me the upstand seems obvious whatever colour it is.

I don't think it's a good idea to have the upstand the same as the floor, or even the white, actually. Your idea of using a lighter version of the floor is the best solution. I like the paler one.

I have trouble differentiating colours when I take my glasses off.
