Can I put peel and stick tiles over sheet vinyl flooring?

Basically as above. I have a bathroom that needs new flooring. I'd rather do it myself because of cost reasons. The vinyl flooring that's down now is flat, good quality but just old and a bit dated. Peel and stick would be ideal but would it adhere. I don't want to be removing the vinyl and having to ply board the floor.

I think it will as long as you give it a good clean. I would clean it with washing up liquid and then wash that off and clean with some sort of alcohol like meths to make sure there isn't any grease.

If it doesn't stick use some gorilla glue and nothing will budge
