Does anyone know of any bricks and mortar shops that sell large rugs?

Having trouble finding something suitable for the living room and I've tried Dunelm, the Range, B & Q. It must be synthetic (wool allergy) and low/flat pile, maybe chenille.

The Rug Hut in Middlewich Cheshire is great.

They do carpets and rugs, but if you find a carpet that you prefer they will turn it into a rug for you so you can have all kinds of sizes and styles.

I like that idea @WomenInConstruction. I want something quite plain so an edged carpet would be good. I'm in the south west though so will have a look to see if anywhere around here does that too.

I think you can order and they deliver... But suppose that doesn't help if you want to see/touch first.
Weekend in Cheshire? 🤣

The website Designer Carpets can make a rug out of a remnant and you can order carpet samples, if that would work? I’ve ordered carpet (but not a rug) from them and they were great

Ikea https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/cat/large-medium-rugs-10692/ We bought a synthetic one from there 10 yrs ago. It still looks new!

Habitat https://www.habitat.co.uk/browse/home-furnishings/rugs-and-runners/rugs/c:809275/

Carpet right or other carpet shops https://www.carpetright.co.uk/

Thanks @JC03745. I'd already trawled through the IKEA website. Most of the plainer ones contain wool which isn't suitable.

We set off to our local carpet right on Sunday and it was closed. They're turning into tapi carpets and reopening mid December.

I'll have a look, thanks @Offcom.

Near me I there's a few nice department stores/independent furniture shops and carpet/flooring shops which all sell rugs.
They aren't near you though!

If not wool I prefer viscose and I think Asiatic rugs are very good quality for the price

Thank you @outandunder. I'll have a look for Asiatic rugs. Sadly not many independent shops in this neck of the woods.

Unnatural Flooring produces synthetic carpets that look and feel just like sisal, but hardwearing and 'washable' with 10% bleach solution. YOu can get this cut to a rug size and taped.
