Need to find wall lights quickly

Our house is old and the lounge has a fairly low ceiling with beams so no overhead lights at all. All the lighting is 4 wall lights which are very dim. We're having the room redecorated in a couple of weeks and some extra wall lights put in to try and brighten the room up. So I'm scrabbling round trying to find nice wall lights that are not ultra modern and not like they belong in a country pub.
ideally without clear shades because then they are too glarey apparently. But that are big and bright enough to light a large room. I'm finding it really hard to find anything, just don't know where to look

Google "wall lights for living room". There are loads of options.

Pooky

Also look at

Lights & Lamps
La Redoute
Houseof

But these are more modern, if you want a bit period-y I would start with Pooky. Possibly Jim Lawrence too

Huge selection here

Budget probably £100/£150 per light? Could go more if they are really nice though. Part of the issue is that I really don't like wall lights in the first place so it's hard to pick!
I really like some of the Jim Lawrence ones though, and the rechargeable ones on Pooky (which I've never heard of!) give us a whole new idea to think about.
thanks for the suggestions so far, I'm going to hunt through the websites now

Castle gate lights have a good range too

Pooky are good lights. You could look at OKA. Neptune is also very good. Cheap and cheerful - Dunelm.

I get the rush if you're in a hurry to find wall lights. I’ve found that checking out places like online stores can help, especially for quick delivery. If you want something that adds a bit of flair to your room, you might want to look at options with dimming features or unique designs. I love the sleek, modern wall lights that give off just the right amount of light without being too bright. You could also try places like Amazon or Wayfair – they have many choices, and you can filter by what you need immediately. If you’re after something for the living room, I recommend checking out Living Room Wall Lights for great options.

I like Jim Lawrence designs and have chosen some lights for our current renovation of 19th C cottage in Wales
but also take a look at Corston ...they do a wide selection of designs and finishes

We have also chosen several from here ( as well as kitchen cabinet handles and light switches/ sockets)

Shop modern wall lights in fixed and hanging styles. Solid brass, fluted glass, fine porcelain and linen shade options.

Ooh yes Corston are nice.

If you want ones that give enough light to light the room, it does need to be glass shades really. Anything with a solid shade or even a fabric shade will give a nice little pool of light but not really light the whole room.

Ones with textured glass (eg ribbed or hand blown) will soften the look so you don’t see the bulb and it’s less glarey
