What colour to paint my bathroom (also vinyl floor suggestions please)

Morning! I HATE this bathroom - we can only repaint for now, so tiles need to stay. What colour would you paint the walls? The tiles have like a grey / light brown colour to them. There is a big window to the left which lets in lots of nice light.

We are getting new flooring also - if anyone can recommend a nice vinyl to go with a suggested paint colour?

So I’ve painted the bathroom and had a new floor put down. Can any of you lovely ladies advise what kind of blind / mirror / decor to put in here now? I honestly have no clue!

What should go across the main wall by the bath? I was thinking of a large mirror? I would go for gold but the taps on the bath and sink are silver so will stick with a silver colour.

You have plants on the window sill, would you actually close a blind? Could you hang more plants from the top of the reveal if you want more of the window covered?
Mirror, decorative or actually to use for make up?
Over the bath you could do a multi shelf unit or a shelf plus mirror, obviously would need to be cleanable.

I'd go for a roman blind, although over time there is a danger that it will be affected by moisture. Either one that blends in like this one:

The brownish tiles might look less prominent without a contrast colour on the wall behind them. Tricky as who wants a brown bathroom wall, but maybe something light but tonal with it. Hesitate to say cream shades or even magnolia, but you could hang something up to distract the eye - maybe a steam-loving green plant against a pale, neutral wall. Away from the tiles you could have more fun with colours, say green and foliage and cane furniture.

personally I'd have picked a more sage green, but the green you picked looks fabulous. The whole bathroom looks a million times better,

if it were me I'd put a large, print along the bath.

i can't stand shelves with lots of 'bits' on them. Nor a gigantic mirror!

Thank you all! I was very brave with the wall colour and I do love it! It’s very teal and even the floor fitter said it suited the flooring well 🥳😂

The plants in the window are there temporarily- I did have little unit in there that I’ve since for rid of, I was thinking of getting a bamboo cupboard and putting the plants in there.

A large print is a very good idea - I will have a look! I do much prefer the bathroom now, thank you to all the suggestions to go bold!

I would go with a warm taupe-y grey, very restful. Accessorise with lots of cream and neutrals.

Take a look at doing a waterproof LVT in an oak finish (Wickes have a good range) and a greige on the walls - try Valspar New York City Winter.

I'd definitely keep plants on the windowsill.

It looks great. I agree about along print on the wall rather than a mirror or shelves. Perhaps a Japanese style with birds/fish/florals?

How about a wicker type roman blind to add contrast and a bit of warmth/woodiness?
Hang it above the window outside the recess (will also help to hide the vents etc)

Btw, do you have a separate shower? If not you could add a shower rail and curtain and tile the shower section so you could have a shower over the bath.

@trickyex yep, separate shower in the en-suite. I’ve been looking for a nice long print - may have to go into home sense as struggling to find something online.

I’ve also struggled to find a storage cabinet - I was hoping for a mustard as thought that would compliment the teal. If would go on the right of the pic, it’s not a big area bug it’s nice to have soaps / loo rolls hidden.

Try Etsy for print or something vintage maybe.
Have you thought about a wicker storage unit?
Mustard might be a bit of a sharp contrast with the existing colours.

Still can’t find a piece of artwork to go on that back wall -
I have scoured Etsy and have been looking at a set of 3 prints, but I can’t find prints that I love 🤦🏻‍♀️
