What colour for kitchen?

I'm usually quite good at this but I'm struggling for what colour to have my units sprayed!

Details
Open plan to living room
Wall colour - polished pebble
Tiles - beige (I didn't pick them!)
Floor - see pic, this can be changed in future but needs to work with it for now
Worktop - kind of mixed white/grey/blue speckle

Will attach living room pic and choices next post

I think the blue . It would work with the current kitchen wall tiles which you are keeping .It also ties in the blue from the living room.

Thanks - the blue is definitely what I'm drawn to

I guess my only worry is about how dark... it's a long story but my kitchen blind is permanently closed so no natural light (obviously the living room blinds etc are open so it's not a cave!)

I like the blue too

The blue is lovely.

You could also consider a greyish teal, if you know what I mean. Like that blue, but with a hint more green.

Ooh yes.. I'll have to find something
They can spray any colour pretty much from farrow and ball match to RAL

Although I can see the appeal of the blue I think it would date quickly - the Purbeck stone is more timeless!

kitchendecor24 · 02/10/2024 17:33

Should add I have no DC so no worried about sticky fingers or marks except my messy cooking

God why is there so many colours Grin

The lasts pic I added has a filter on as from Instagram but on checking it's oval house blue which is now a strong contender

Honestly I think any shade of blue would work well.

Just don't go for grey, it's so miserable in the winter/spring/autumn!

I have a soft spot for grey as I find it really calming but I have a lot of grey already
I like greens and blues with grey, that kind of colour palette
Just don't want it to clash with the awful beige tiles and floor as they're both warm toned. The floor can change at a later date

I do quite like the blue.
COuld I suggest having window film on your kitchen window rather than keeping your blind shut? Would let more light in, give you more options.
HOw much light would you get from the kitchen window/what aspect is it?

I have day and night blinds so sometimes they are on the day setting. It's a long story to do with being right on the pavement and anti social behaviour but it has improved recently

There are 3 other windows and patio doors in the room (open plan) so lots of other natural light

Ah ok
Having seen he pics dont think the blue would work, bit too cool/cold.
Have you thought about a soft pale green?
Would work nicely with the floor and tile colours.
Could you post a larger pic of the living area as well? HArd to see in the photo above.

Thanks
Are you wanting a relatively cool feel or are you aiming for inviting/cosy?
Are your tiles/worltip staying?

trickyex · 03/10/2024 17:52
