Tried sofaology, oak furniture , DFS- the sofas are SO expensive and the styles pretty average . I don’t want anything super trendy/funky , the most important is that it is comfortable and reasonably hard wearing . I want 2 X 2 seaters in either leather or fabric.

Any suggestions ?

Ikea.

I have Ikea because I have a first floor living room and they were the only ones that would go up the stairs.

They are comfortable and hard wearing, I can take them into three parts and wash the covers as well

I have Ikea kivik

Try a larger charity shop. We got a lazy boy that's meant to be 1600 in fantastic condition for 170!

EBay. I got a sofa for £700 that was factory seconds and had a small scratch on the back, it was rrp £2900 and I was delighted! Bargains to be had on gumtree too, sometimes gems on freecycle as well but you have to be on it.

Another vote for ikea. Some have a 10 year warranty and it's easy to buy additional covers for them if needed.

Task rabbit will build them for a very reasonable sum if you are not handy.

FBM, Gumtree, EBay, large charity shops (every town/city has them now).
I have bought and sold all sorts of sofas/footstools in the past 20 years and never paid more than £400 for any of them.
I have had J Lewis, Duresta, IKEA, Multiyork, antiques.
If you do want new then I suggest IKEA as you can replace the covers if they get damaged or worn.

Next

I have 2 Next ones and they're really comfortable, hard wearing and not overly fashionable but modern enough to not look old fashioned.
