Forest green kitchen- will it date?

About to spend ££££ on a new kitchen and am drawn to Forest green with copper accents and white granite worktops. Worried it is a bit bold and I should play it safe with a neutral colour. Current kitchen is cream. Such a lot of money to spend to get it wrong!

Thinking of going with wren so any views on them appreciated too

of course it will, go for neutrals and paint the walls green.

My friend has just put in a new kitchen in exactly these colours and it's gorgeous. I've recently got a dark blue kitchen and I love it! I don't care that it will date and not be to everyone's taste. You can say that about anything.
I'm another one to add to the cautionary tales of Wren. 2 disaster stories of door fronts peeling away after only 3 or 4 years. And poor after-service.

We have a wren kitchen from the premium range in a bold colour (with antique brass handles rather than copper) and it's fab. It's three years old now and still in very good condition.

half the cabinets came with Howdens branding on them so I assume it's all the same stuff in the long run.

we used a proper independent joiner to fit it all though which I think is the key.

We had the premium range too and an independent fitter.
The cabinet fronts all began peeling away. The same thing happened to my parents.

We have had no end of struggles trying to get a claim approved by Wren who argued that the cabinets above the kettle and near the hob should not be included as the damage was due to condensation.
My argument is 1) it's a kitchen and cabinets should be able to withstand normal use which includes boiling a kettle. 2) all of the cabinets were affected including those on the other side of the room not near any obvious heat / condensation source.

Awful company to deal with.

Thanks for the replies. I have to make a decision today as the offers expire today and they say there won't be better offers this year.

I haven't had any other quotes though from any other company and wren has quoted 18k which seems steep although that includes some appliances and installation.

Compromise…..go neutral on your cupboards and bold on the walls

Don’t let wren install…….so many people saying they are a nightmare……but them from there if that’s what you want…..them get your own fitters

It will definitely date. I can remember the "Hunter green" years of the 1990s. I would go for a repaintable kitchen or keep it neutral and introduce your colour somewhere else.

It can look good if done well, but dark kitchens date really badly when they are out of style - think of the recent craze for black gloss.

LOVE green - I'm having a sage green kitchen fitted very soon with antique brass handles, pale grey quartz worktop and a bright forest green glass splash back - ever my fitter said 'really nice choices'
