Long, dark hallway, what paint color to choose?

I’d like a lovely color to brighten up a dark, narrow hallway that isn’t white or a neutral, any suggestions?

That is a lovely pink!

We went with a powder-ish blue with a just hint of grey in it. I can't remember what it is, now. We have the dreaded panelling all over, some of it hides cupboards.
We decided to paint over the natural wood skirting boards, architraves, stairs and bannisters too, leaving just the handrail and doors in wood.
There is also a textured ceiling, not too horrible. We colour washed the lot, so that it all recedes.

it seems to be a lot brighter now, even though the blue is a shade or three darker that the previous pale peach.

I've chosen pink - Hellebore for the walls and black for the wood.
