What colour bedding?

If you're moving somewhere that has very pale pink walls and grey painted wardrobes, what colour bedding might make it look nicer?

We don't have time to paint between completion and moving day (and it's only recently been painted) but I'd like the room to look nice.

Not keen on pink and white isn't a great idea as DP has a skin condition that sometimes bleeds.

What colour do you think would look ok without the room seeming like a mismatch of colours?

DD’s bedroom is this exact colour scheme - she went for textured white bedsheets. Simplistic but timeless!

Edit: Just read the part about your DH’s skin condition, sorry!

If white doesn't work for you, I'd go for a greg

poppyzbrite4 · 20/09/2024 13:45

Grey.

Goatblu · 20/09/2024 14:10

It's going to have to be grey isn't it. Worried that the room will seem too dark as the wardrobes are pretty dark paint. Pale grey wouldn't work - same problem as white.

I'd go for something highly patterned to mix it up e.g.

ClementineChurchill · 20/09/2024 14:21

Deep pink patterned

SeatbeltExtender · 20/09/2024 14:26

Navy

Goatblu · 20/09/2024 19:04

I don't like patterns unless it's barely visible. Navy might work though.

@savvy7 - gorgeous 😍 love that

Dark purple. My bedroom is grey, pale pink and purples and it all goes really nicely together.

Goatblu · 20/09/2024 19:27

Oohh, never thought about purple. Good call.

How about a warm or subdued yellow, or you could try a rust or olive green? These would add a counterpoint of color. If not, try looking for a rug you like with your first two colors and pick out whatever third or fourth color you find in the rug for the duvet / curtains. That should pull it all together.

RogueFemale · 27/09/2024 01:38

If you mean colour of sheets, then white is the only acceptable colour. Bloodstains easily removed by soaking for 12 hours in cold water before washing.

HelloDaisy · 29/09/2024 06:03

I’d go with navy or a deep jewel green.

Goatblu · 29/09/2024 09:27

I've postponed other stuff and the walls will soon be white (with blue bedding). I really don't like the pink as it makes the room quite gloomy and miserable. I'll add colour with plants and artwork.

I'd be tempted to go for a deep forest green

UnimaginableWindBird · 30/09/2024 21:33

I have very heavy periods and regularly bleed all over the bedding and generally buy white for that very reason as a bit of oxy bleach in the wash will leave it as good as new.

I am quite tempted by some of the vaguely arts and craft style patterns in IKEA at the moment, though, which would probably go quite well in your room.

BlackStarryNight · 02/10/2024 17:24

I have a pale pink spare room with grey carpet with burgundy bedding. It's such a lovely rich colour it really tones down the pink and makes it feel more like a neutral

Goatblu · 03/10/2024 18:23

The room is now white and seems so much more cheerful than it was. It was a very strange pink.
