Little Greene SATINWOOD paints

Hi

We love Little Greene paints and have used them for most of our house. The Intelligent Matt, Absolute Matt and Eggshell (water based version) are all fantastic. They are such beautiful colours, easy to use and amazing texture for getting a lovely finish.

However, we used Dock Blue in Satinwood (water based) recently and were very disappointed. The consistency was gluey and the colour wasn't right till multiple applications had been applied.

We are thinking about doing the kitchen units in Boringdon Green and the natural choice would be Satinwood, but we are concerned following our experience of Satin in Dock Blue.

An alternative would be Little Greene's Tom's Oil which is beautiful, stunning really, but stinks. It's an exterior oil based paint. There'd also be the oil based Satin one, but apparently it smells as bad as Tom's Oil. It has highers VOCs than the water based version too, although all Littel Greene paints are excellent for keeping VOCs to a minimum.

Any advice or experience of Satinwood (water based) in Boringdon Green or other colours? Which paint would you choose? We do love Little Greene, just don't know which finish.

Thanks!
