What is this called?

I need a piece of furniture for my entrance hall. I can see it so clearly in my head, but for the life of me I don't know what it's called so can't search for it!

It's to go in the hallway, immediately to the right of the front door as you enter. It's not a wide space, so a console table would be too big. It would almost look like a tall bedside table, with a cupboard space below, shelf, and surface to put letters etc. (except a bedside table would be a bit too deep).

Above that is a mirror at eye level, with hooks hanging below for your keys.

I don't mind if the mirror and hooks are separate, but I would prefer that they match - I just can't find anything that's a suitable size.

I definitely didn't dream this type of furniture - anyone know what it's called??

There are others on there too.
I googled narrow hallway furniture.
I think that I saw the term Hall Tree somewhere also.

I think we used to just call them a Hall Table. I'm sure I've seen them with coathooks too.

No idea sorry but if you google "mirror with coat hooks and shelf" there are a few nice looking hits for the top part.

Try Hallway Cabinet with mirror, or Hallway utility stand, for your search.

Try googling 'telephone table' - although they don't have the mirror or hooks.

Oooh yes this is very close! Thank you!

Just a hallway key organiser with mirror?

justasoul · 12/09/2024 12:32

Hallway tree?
(ETA: based on the images suggested rather than your description! You might be able to find a higher one with a table feel rather than a bench.)

Coat stand?

ButterAsADip · 12/09/2024 18:52

Design it and get a carpenter to make one for you? 😍

Turnitoffnonagain · 12/09/2024 18:52

coatstand on Wayfair

There's a nice one on Way fair but I just can't copy the blinking image 🤷

Hope you find what you are looking for - it's really frustrating when you have a very clear idea in your head and no one has made the exact thing you need!

Hall tree or coat rack stand.

Something like this from B&Q https://www.diy.com/departments/homcom-hallway-furniture-set-shoe-bench-storage-mirror-cabinet-w-4-hooks/5056029827970_BQ.prd

Or this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Julie-Hallway-Furniture-Entryway-Sonoma/dp/B071RP3THN

I know exactly what you mean, my parents had one in the hall, hand made by a great uncle as his woodworking exam piece. It had a mirror in the middle, hooks on either side, and a shelf with a pull out drawer underneath the mirror and shoe racks at the bottom. All hand turned wood with a gazillion surfaces to catch dust.

I really like that first one. Wonder if it will fit in my new house 🤔
