Please help me decide on sofas

Hi all. I’ve always wanted navy sofas and looking at this:

But then I’ve been thinking that two navy sofas might be quite darkening in the room, plus I know matching sofas aren’t really in these days.

What other colour/fabric within that range should I go for, for the second sofa? Furthermore (sorry!) are people generally having 2 x 3 seaters, or one 3 seater and a 2 seater?

Room sounds really lovely and navy looks fab with sage. With such a pretty wallpaper, I’d pick a slightly more ornate style of sofa - maybe something like this. Depending on your room’s size and layout, I’d get two two-seaters facing each other with a coffee table in the middle - a light ish coffee table would stop things getting too dark. You could also throw in a gold or mustard (or leather) accent chair if space and budget permit.

Why on earth are you worrying about what is "in" or what others generally have?

Go for what works for you, your family, your room, your guests.

Gorgeous wallpaper OP. It gives you a lot of options colourwise. What about a sofa/sofas in the pinky/purple or plum colour? Sounds obvious but make sure you actually sit on the sofa you like before buying - I decided against my favourite because when I tried it out in the shop it turned out it was really uncomfortable due to its style/dimensions.
