As the title says really. Is there such a thing as a mains gas fire that looks like a log burner? I've tried looking but don't think I'm putting in the right key words and I keep getting different types of gas but not mains. If there is such a thing, could you please post links? Thanks

Ravel Wildfire. I have this and it's stunning. If you put it in google you can watch the video of it in action

Ooh, that's perfect, thanks. Can't seem to find the price but maybe that's because you can only purchase from a showroom. Do you know roughly how much you paid?

I think I paid 1700

We've got a Gazco Loft - looks slightly more like the swedish design wood-burners, (but gas obviously). We've had it about three years now and it's great - very versatile, user friendly and looks really good. We had ours installed on a black granite hearth.

I really like the Firebelly gas range of stoves. They're quite expensive but look amazing.

Oh Wow thank you so much for this thread never in my wildest dreams did I think these types of gas fires existed. Will definitely be looking locally for a company that can install them.

We’ve got a Broseley Hereford 5 with remote control .Its a few years old now so I’m not sure if they are exactly the same now but when not lit as a feature it looks very authentic .

I'd heard of them just couldn't find one. I love log burners, they're so cosy but being realistic I'd never be able to maintain the level of commitment needed for one. The gas ones are expensive but I'd get years of pleasure and cosiness. What's not to love?

Thanks everyone for your help, I shall be making decisions over the weekend and will aim to have one installed before dark evenings set in.

I’ve come on this morning to ask about gas fired ‘log burners’, so thanks for this thread.
I’ve got a hole in the wall where the chimney stack is, but does anyone know if I’d need a fake chimney breast fitting to provide a bigger hole for one?

We have got the Grazco Sheraton 5 . It has a remote control and we are very happy with it. Looking forward to having the brick slips done and enjoying the fire this winter
