The Pier

In the 1990s there was a chain of furniture and home decor shops called the Pier. They sold hand crafted hardwood furniture, throws, rugs, cushions etc. It was very eclectic! Does anyone know of somewhere similar? Am looking for a big wall mirror.

Somewhere like Nkuku, Cox&Cox, even H&M often have things with a similar feel.

I was going to say Maisons du Monde, but since 2023 they’ve stopped trading in the UK…

I loved The Pier! That takes me back... you could try Wayfair as they do a massive range of stuff. Or maybe Zara Home or H&M home. The high street is a bit bare of these sort of shops now so online is kind of inevitable.

I would say Nkuku or Myakka are the closest these days.

Ian snow is beautiful but expensive - but it has that handmade, slightly ethnic thing in spades. Beautiful mirrors.

nkuku is lovely but also so expensive.

I've still got a beautiful vase from the Pier. My mum's house is full of stuff from there.
