Armchairs - comfy, attractive, lumbar support?

Hello! I slouch (or lie down) when sitting on the sofa. I'd like to find a way to sit comfortably to watch TV etc while maintaining a better posture - mainly lumbar support to avoid a flat lower back position.

The only armchairs that look like they make proper claims about posture support seem to be HSL types for people a bit older (I'm only 40). We also want to have a modern looking living room and the rise and recline styles don't fit in!

Has anyone got any nice, comfortable, modern looking and supportive armchairs for daily use? Thank you!

Im 100% with you on this and am commenting so I can see what replies you get!
I feel most comfy in the upright high back style armchairs - very "old" in style. I dont get the appeal of sofas with low backs and cushions that dont seem at all "fixed".

Yes! I also notice that old photos from the earlier part of the twentieth century often show people relaxing by the fire in nice supportive armchairs... They were onto something. Let's see if anyone has any ideas!

Try tub chairs, a good quality one..I've found them very supportive to the lower back and surprisingly comfortable.
