Self adhesive tiles on wooden floors?

I’d like to change the flooring in my little downstairs loo but can’t afford to rip it out and replace it.

Would sticky tiles work? I’ve seen people on Instagram do it but I don’t quite understand how you put square tiles over wooden “planks” without them dipping/sinking into the joins in the flooring underneath?

Would I need to lay something on top of the wooden floor first ? Must admit, if this is the case, I might give it a miss as I’ll be doing it myself and I’m not that handy!!!

putting down underlay might work.

you need the floor as even as possible for good results.

look up projects on youtube.

Argh, that’s what I thought - was really hoping this would be a minimal effort job!😆

you can get a piece of thin ply cut to size (diy store will do it for you)

a piece of vinyl with a pattern that disguises uneveness could work.
