Stair gate for rounded banisters

I need to get a stair gate, but the bottom of my stairs has rounded wooden banisters on either side, and the top of the stairs has a rounded banister on one side and a wall on the other. What type of stair gate should I use? I bought a standard one but had to return it as it wouldn't attach to the banister.

If you buy a flat peice of wood from somewhere like b and q you can drill two holes in the top and 2 holes in the bottom and attach it to the staircase with cable tiea and thwn yoj ahve a flat surface for a stair gate. The other option is one of those baby jails (play pen) which opens out. You can get wall attachments or just bend it round and attach it to the staircase.
